Thursday Evening SEND Community Sessions
Whether you're a parent carer looking for support, a young person wanting to connect with others, or a sibling of a child with additional needs, our Thursday Evening Sessions offer a warm, welcoming space for everyone.
Parent carers are welcome to attend on their own or alongside their child or young person (aged 0-25 years) who has additional needs or disabilities, with no diagnosis required. Join us for an informal evening of coffee, cake, conversation, and peer support with other families who understand the joys and challenges of SEND life.
At the same time, thanks to funding from the Universal Youth Work Fund, our youth worker delivers fun, inclusive activities for young people aged 8-18 years. Young people can make friends, build confidence, share their experiences, and enjoy a relaxed and supportive environment.
We also run a Siblings Group, designed for young people who have a brother or sister with additional needs. Siblings often play a vital role within their families and may have their own questions, worries, and experiences. Through engaging activities, they can connect with others who understand, celebrate their strengths and resilience, and develop positive coping strategies in a safe and supportive space.
There's no pressure to stay for the whole session. Come for as little or as long as feels comfortable for you. Free snacks and refreshments are available for everyone.
Our friendly team will be on hand throughout the evening to welcome you, answer questions, and help you access information, services, and support networks across Rotherham.
If you're feeling a little anxious about attending for the first time or would like to chat beforehand, please contact us on 01709 296262 or admin@rpcf.co.uk.
