SEMH Consultation Report
8th June 2021
Please see below the findings from recent consultations
SEMH Research Project
From January to March RPCF carried out a research project into Social Emotional and Mental health (SEMH) difficulties and provision for children and young people in Rotherham.
This piece of work was in response to the initial consultation in November and December 2020 following the announcement of a new Free School. The importance of lived experience of children , young people and their parent/carers in developing this new provision led us to apply for external funding , which made this research work possible.
Whilst the research began with the Free school, as you will see in the report, the wider offer for SEMH provision across all our settings is explored.
The next step is to look at the findings alongside partners and hold further listening events with Education colleagues and the new provider once approved by the DFE
Thankyou to all parents, young people, RPCF staff and volunteers and partners who shared views and experience and supported this project. Thank you also to Sarah Alexander, who collated all the information and brought this experience to life in writing this report.
