The local area is required to produce and submit a Written Statement Of Action to Ofsted that explains how the local area will tackle the following areas of significant weakness identified in the report:
◼The variability in the quality of EHC plans, including the contribution of health and social care partners.
◼The effectiveness of the graduated response to identify and meet children and young people’s needs, especially in key stages 1 and 2.
◼The quality of provision for children and young people’s preparation for, and transition to, adulthood.
◼Communication with all parents and carers of children and young people with SEND about the local offer, and the accessibility of the very valuable information included within the local offer.
RPCF with relevant partners have planned to deliver a series of listening events/Q&A sessions to give opportunity to families to play an active role through lived experience in development of these areas of significant weakness identified in the report. This is the first in the series and will cover all areas to give opportunity to comment on the report as a whole. The following 4 will be focussed on individual areas and the order will be determined by results from this consultation.
There is an opportunity to join a listening event or submit questions on these areas with senior leads resulting from this consultation and what you tell us is important to you. Themes will be collated and an invitation to the event on the 25th November is open to all. As always all views shared will be anonomised & collated with intention to ensure that as many views as possible are represented wether you can attend on the 25th or not.
Whilst we continue to work with partners to ensure family voice is central in developing any new plans around SEND provision, RPCF acknowledge that the voice and experience of families and the questions arising across all SEND provision is central in informing any developments and commissioning in equal partnership through the SEND strategic Board.
